If you have any questions after reading the info. on our website, please e-mail me from our contact us page or call our President. We appreciate your interest our Town based youth baseball program that has been playing for over 35 years.

- We welcome all Town based baseball teams between the ages of 13 to 18. We field teams from all over Long Island. To have your team eligible to play in the LI Babe Ruth league, at least 51% of your team players must reside in the town you call home. Managers and coaches need not be expert in their baseball knowledge. Any questions that come up during the playing season can be answered by our knowledgeable staff. We use the Babe Ruth rule book (with some local modifications) and then the Major League Baseball Rules.

- Our games are played on County, Town or school baseball fields but if you wish to play some of your Home games on your own field, that is OK as long as it meets the League's criteria for fields. You must give the League a copy of your permit for your Home field for us to schedule games on that field.

- Meetings: There will be 3 meetings each spring. The first is usually scheduled early in March, the 2nd is scheduled for the end of March or early in April and the 3rd is scheduled the week prior to your division starting play in May. All team representatives are required to attend these meetings. At the first meeting, a form is distributed to all managers for them to list all pertinent team information, including managers, coaches and player information. The players rosters are not frozen until June 30th. All teams MUST list any black out dates that the team can not play during the season. All rule changes must be proposed, discussed and voted on at this meeting. At the 2nd meeting, all Registration forms are turned in as well as all league fees, insurance information and the blackout dates. Insurance and 6 dozen baseballs are included in the league fees. At the 3rd meeting, the schedules are handed out to all teams, as well as the scorebooks and the baseballs. Our President will go over the use of LIBabeRuth.com at this meeting.

- The Babe Ruth League season starts around May 20th for the Rookie and Freshman Divisions and at the end of May for the Junior Varsity and Varsity Divisions and all schedules continue to the first weekend in August. Playoffs in each division follow the conclusion of the regular season and are usually completed by August 15th. The divisions usually play a schedule of approx. 25-28 games. There will be scheduled doubleheaders sprinkled throughout the entire schedule period. The 2 older divisions play the majority of their games at night on lighted fields. There will be 2 qualified umpires assigned to each game. We are fully staffed with high school grade umpires and all questions concerning umpires should be addressed to the League President.

- All fees to join our League will be discussed at the meetings and include insurance, umpire fees and baseballs.

- The Long Island Babe Ruth League maintains membership in Babe Ruth Baseball. This organization is one of the most respected youth baseball programs in the United States. This organization conducts some of the most competitive youth baseball programs in the country. This organization conducts local, regional and national tournaments. If your winning team or players, as determined by Long Island Babe Ruth League, are awarded a bid to enter one of these tournaments that can lead to a national championship, it will be your duty as manager to make all decisions as to how you will be able to field your team in any sanctioned tournament that you have been picked to enter.

- After your registration form and all league fees have been paid, you may request from our web master a posting for players in your geographical area. All postings are done through the web master.
